ClaudeUsageMonitor is a tiny, native Windows app that sits quietly on your screen and shows exactly how much of Claude you are using. It keeps track of your Claude Code usage, your token count, how full your context window is, and the limits on your Anthropic account β all in one small window you can glance at any time.
No dashboards to open in a browser. No digging through settings. No technical setup. Just install it once, run it, and always know where you stand.
For Windows 10 and Windows 11 β’ Small download β’ Runs as a normal desktop app
When you use Claude β especially Claude Code β there are invisible numbers running in the background: how many tokens you have sent and received, how much of the context window is currently filled, and how close you are to the usage limits on your Anthropic account. Normally you only find out when something slows down or stops working.
ClaudeUsageMonitor brings those numbers out into the open. It is a miniature monitoring window built specifically for Windows. It stays on top of your other windows, updates itself automatically, and uses very little memory or processing power. You can leave it running all day and forget it is there β until you need it.
It is designed for anyone who relies on Claude during the workday: writers, researchers, students, support teams, and yes, developers using Claude Code. If you have ever wondered βdo I still have room left before I hit a limit?β, this app answers that question instantly.

Before a long writing session. Open the monitor first and see how much room you have. If your context window is already fairly full, you know it is a good moment to start a fresh conversation rather than fight against a limit halfway through a paragraph.
While running Claude Code. Long automated sessions can burn through tokens quickly. A quick glance at the monitor tells you whether your current run is comfortable or whether it is time to wrap up and split the work into smaller pieces.
When sharing a computer or an account. If other people use the same Anthropic account, the monitor gives you a shared, honest view of how much of the allowance has already been consumed today.
As a gentle early warning. Instead of discovering a limit the hard way β mid-task, mid-thought β you see the numbers climbing in the corner of your screen and can plan around them.
ClaudeUsageMonitor runs entirely on your own PC. It reads the usage information already present on your machine and displays it in a small window. It does not upload your conversations anywhere, it does not require you to type in a password, and it does not store your account credentials.
The app has no advertising, no telemetry of its own, and no background services. When you close it, it stops. Everything it shows stays on your computer.
Is this an official Anthropic product?
No. ClaudeUsageMonitor is an independent, community-made utility built by a user who wanted a clearer view of their own usage. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
Do I need to be a programmer to use it?
Not at all. If you can download a file and double-click it, you can use this app. There is no command line, no configuration file, and no setup wizard.
Does it work with Claude in the browser as well as Claude Code?
The monitor is built around the usage information available on your Windows machine, which includes Claude Code. Its purpose is to show you tokens, context window fill, and account limits regardless of which Claude surface you are using.
How often does the information update?
The window refreshes on its own while it is open, so the numbers you see are current. There is no manual refresh button to remember.
Where do I get updates?
New versions are published on the same releases page you used to download the app: github.com/patlarage/ClaudeUsageMonitor/releases. Check back there whenever you want the newest build.
Why does Windows show a warning the first time I run it?
Windows treats small, newly published independent apps cautiously. Clicking More info and then Run anyway lets the app start normally.
Place the window in the top-right corner of your screen, just below the menu bar. That spot is out of the way of most work but still in your field of view, so the numbers register without you having to look for them.
Glance at it before you start a big task rather than during one. Knowing your starting position makes it easy to judge whether a long conversation is realistic or whether you should break the work into shorter pieces.
Keep an eye on the context window reading in particular. A context that is nearly full can quietly change the quality of your results, and the monitor gives you an early nudge to start fresh.
Stop guessing how much Claude you have left. Download the tiny Windows monitor, park it in the corner of your screen, and get a clear, always-current picture of your usage, tokens, context window, and account limits.
